Anne Brethet

Anne Brethet

Anne has been leading the team at Brethet, Barnum for over 20 years, while continuing to be an active and successful recruiter.

Anne works across the healthcare field in talent acquisition, both on the commercial and scientific side. She enjoys working with established companies, but also has an affinity for start ups.

Anne is knowledgeable about healthcare and recognizes the ways in which the healthcare industry has evolved. There are considerable developments; the convergence of technology with health care delivery, digital health, patient focused initiatives, personalized healthcare, and the collaboration for innovation and healthcare incubators.

There continue to be challenges in many areas such as reimbursement, access and regulatory approval. But there are dedicated, talented people working to resolve these issues. Anne is adept at finding these talented individuals.

Anne identifies the opportunities in the industry and has been instrumental in getting top talent into key positions. She does this with a focus on service, integrity and professionalism.

Anne has an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. She also carries the professional designation of CPC (Certified Personnel Consultant). Anne enjoys public speaking and has been a guest lecturer at University of Guelph speaking on The Recruitment and Selection for the Office of Open Learning; a required program for CHRP.

Alec Alipanopoulos

Alec Alipanopoulos

Alec joined the Brethet Barnum team in 2009 with a strong desire to contribute to the continued advancements in healthcare. His passion to keep abreast of developing trends in Medicine, Healthcare and Scientific Research have enabled him to work successfully with both large corporations and emerging companies.

Alec has effectively utilized his experience to give him a strong understanding in both the commercial and scientific sides of the industry. Integral to his success is Alec’s ability to position himself as a partner with all stakeholders, truly listen to their needs and guide them in making the decision that is right for them.

Alec prides himself in finding great candidates for his clients and is actively involved in all aspects of the recruiting process from initiation to completion. He adds value by taking on the recruiting process for the client allowing them to focus solely on the suitability of the select candidates presented. Alec has successfully placed candidates at all levels within an organization.

Alec is proud of the long term relationships he has fostered with both clients and candidates who have not only made a positive impact on the company but also to the advancement of healthcare in Canada.

Alec has an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from York University.

Bob Shiley

Bob Shiley

Bob Shiley began his recruiting career with Brethet, Barnum & Associates in 1990. Prior to joining Brethet, Barnum, Bob was an agent for Landmark Medical, selling orthopedic products, and previously worked with Baxter and National Rubber.

As a recruiter, Bob’s focus has been in Sales and Marketing, but he has also worked on Finance, Market Access, Clinical Research, and Regulatory Affairs assignments, all within the healthcare arena. In recent years, he has helped a number of biotechnology companies get established in the Canadian market.

In 1997 Bob became a CPC (Certified Personnel Consultant) and CIPC (Certified International Personnel Consultant). He is a member of CHLA (Canadian Healthcare Licensing Association), OPMA (Ontario Pharmaceutical Marketing Association), PMCQ (Pharmaceutical Marketing Club of Quebec), and LSO (Life Sciences Organization). Bob has an Honours BA in Sociology from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Bob believes in the adage “it’s who we know”, and over the span of his career as a recruiter, has made a point of introducing himself, and getting to know and assist literally thousands of people in the industry. Bob makes a concerted effort to really get to know the person and prove that he really cares.

Phyllis Chrzan

Phyllis Chrzan

Phyllis Chrzan has been recruiting in the Health Care Industry since 1978, and has been with Brethet, Barnum and Associates since 1981. She previously worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Phyllis has always maintained her focus within the medical arena in sales and marketing, CHE, training and business development.

Phyllis believes in a strong partnership relationship with her clients and candidates, and has maintained many of these relationships for her entire career. Phyllis has a tremendous knowledge of the industry and the people within it. She has watched people develop and “grow up” in the industry. She has successfully placed literally hundreds of people, and has countless success stories.

Phyllis has excellent assessment skills and applies these skills to understand the needs of her clients and candidates. She is strongly committed to finding quality candidates who are the right fit with each organization. It is this attention to fit, and an ability to listen to and partner with her clients and candidates which has enabled her to develop strong and lasting customer relationships

Phyllis received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto.
